VIGIL Wins Made-in-India Innovative Product of the Year at FIST Awards 2026

The best recognition is the kind that validates not only what you have built, but also why you built it.
We are proud to announce that VIGIL has been named the Made-in-India Innovative Product of the Year at the FIST Awards 2026.
This recognition is an important milestone for our entire team. More than an award for technology or innovation, it acknowledges a problem we believed needed a better solution: how to ensure that fire protection systems remain ready, visible and accountable every hour of every day.
VIGIL was developed around one simple but critical question:
Is your fire safety system ready right now?
That question became the foundation for an IoT-based Automated Continuous Monitoring System (ACMS) designed specifically for modern fire-safety infrastructure.
Why We Built VIGIL Fire ACMS
Fire protection systems are expected to remain operational around the clock. Fire pumps, water tanks, hydrants, fire alarm panels and other critical equipment must all be ready when an emergency occurs.
Traditionally, however, fire-safety monitoring has depended heavily on manual checks, scheduled inspections and periodic audits.
A technician visits a site, checks the equipment, records the condition and moves on.
That process remains important, but it creates a natural gap between inspections.
A lot can happen during that gap.
A pump can be left in Manual mode. A water tank level can fall. Pressure may change unexpectedly. Batteries can deteriorate. A communication link can fail. A fault can develop in a fire alarm panel or another part of the fire protection system.
If nobody is physically present to notice the problem, it may remain undetected.
This is exactly the challenge VIGIL Fire ACMS was created to address.
Moving from Manual Checks to Automated Continuous Monitoring
VIGIL is an IoT-based Automated Continuous Monitoring System that continuously monitors critical fire-safety equipment and system conditions in real time.
The Fire ACMS connects key components of the fire infrastructure into a single monitoring environment, giving facility managers, building owners and fire-safety professionals greater visibility into system health and operational readiness.
Instead of relying only on the question:
“Was the system working when it was last inspected?”
VIGIL enables a more useful question:
“Is the system working and ready right now?”
That change represents a significant shift in the way fire safety can be managed.
Through Fire IoT technology, VIGIL can support continuous system monitoring, live data capture, real-time fault detection and remote access to critical system information.
How Fire IoT Improves System Visibility
One of the most important advantages of Fire IoT is its ability to make previously invisible problems visible.
IoT sensors can be installed across pumps, tanks, panels and other critical systems. VIGIL then captures live operating data and makes this information available through a centralised dashboard.
If a fault, failure or abnormal condition is detected, the Fire ACMS can provide instant alerts through channels such as email, SMS and WhatsApp, allowing responsible teams to investigate the issue sooner.
This helps move fire-safety management away from delayed discovery and towards proactive intervention.
VIGIL also supports remote monitoring, allowing authorised teams to access fire-system information without depending entirely on physical site visits.
For organisations managing multiple buildings, this centralised visibility can make fire-safety operations more structured, responsive and transparent.
From Reactive Maintenance to Proactive Fire Safety
The purpose behind VIGIL was never to make fire safety more complicated.
It was to make it more visible, more proactive and more accountable.
Traditional maintenance often becomes reactive. A fault occurs, someone notices it later, and corrective action begins only after the issue has already affected system readiness.
An Automated Continuous Monitoring System changes that model.
With continuous monitoring and real-time fault detection, maintenance teams have an opportunity to identify abnormal conditions earlier and respond before a smaller issue develops into a major system failure.
The Fire ACMS can also support automated logs, maintenance history, system-performance records and compliance-related data, reducing dependence on manually maintained records.
This combination of Fire IoT, live monitoring and actionable information can help organisations improve operational efficiency while maintaining greater confidence in their fire protection systems.
Supporting Compliance Through Fire ACMS Technology
Fire-safety requirements are also becoming more technology-driven.
VIGIL has been designed with the evolving regulatory environment in mind, including requirements associated with the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act.
The VIGIL Fire ACMS supports continuous system monitoring, real-time fault detection, data logging and audit trails, helping applicable buildings maintain stronger visibility over their fire-safety infrastructure.
This is especially relevant as fire-safety compliance moves beyond periodic documentation towards continuous operational readiness.
The focus is no longer simply on proving that a system was checked.
The focus is increasingly on demonstrating that the system remains operational and monitored.
Built on More Than 30 Years of Fire-Safety Experience
Technology alone does not solve a fire-safety problem.
VIGIL was developed with practical understanding of fire protection systems and the challenges faced by building owners, facility managers, engineering teams and fire-safety professionals.
Elixir brings more than 30 years of on-ground fire-safety expertise, and that experience has played an important role in shaping VIGIL as a purpose-built Fire IoT solution rather than a generic IoT platform.
The system was designed around real operational conditions—how pumps behave, how tank levels need to be monitored, how faults develop, how alerts need to reach responsible personnel and how fire-safety teams actually manage buildings.
That practical experience is one of the reasons this award is particularly meaningful to us.
A Recognition of the Entire VIGIL Team
Winning the Made-in-India Innovative Product of the Year at the FIST Awards 2026 is a recognition of every person who contributed to VIGIL.
From identifying the original problem to engineering the monitoring architecture, integrating Fire IoT technology, developing dashboards, working on field implementation and refining real-world performance, the product has required collaboration across multiple disciplines.
Our engineering, technical, fire-safety, implementation and support teams have all contributed to turning the original idea into a practical Automated Continuous Monitoring System.
The award belongs to that collective effort.
It also recognises the willingness of the team to question an established approach.
Periodic inspection has been part of fire-safety management for decades. But when technology makes continuous monitoring possible, it is important to ask whether there is a better way to manage system readiness.
VIGIL is our answer to that question.
Built in India for India’s Fire-Safety Ecosystem
India is building faster, taller and more technologically complex than ever before.
Commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals, residential towers, hotels and other high-risk properties increasingly depend on interconnected systems.
Fire-safety infrastructure must evolve at the same pace.
We believe that Fire IoT and Fire ACMS technology will play an increasingly important role in that evolution.
The future of fire safety is moving:
- from periodic inspection to continuous monitoring,
- from reactive maintenance to proactive intervention,
- from isolated systems to centralised dashboards,
- from manual records to automated logs and reports,
- and from delayed fault discovery to real-time fault detection.
VIGIL represents our contribution to this future.
More Than an Award — An Affirmation of the Problem We Chose to Solve
Being recognised at the FIST Awards 2026 as the Made-in-India Innovative Product of the Year means more to us than receiving an industry honour.
It affirms the problem we chose to solve.
It validates the need for better visibility within fire protection systems.
It supports our belief that Automated Continuous Monitoring Systems can make fire-safety management more proactive.
And it strengthens our commitment to developing Fire IoT solutions that help buildings remain safer, smarter and better prepared.
VIGIL was built in India, for India’s fire-safety ecosystem.
This award is an important milestone, but it is not the destination.
For our team, it marks the beginning of the next phase—continuing to improve VIGIL, strengthening Fire ACMS capabilities and helping more organisations move towards continuous, intelligent and accountable fire-safety monitoring.
